fletchman1963 @ 15, you do not play Pre-season football to gain experience, but to get in shape for the coming season. Are you saying that, if a team plays Pre-season games with other taems in North amaerica or Asia, they will gain more experience and win things more than other clubs that have played european teams in Pre-season?. this sugestion is very lame and laughable.
It is called PRE-SEASON, so whoever a team plays does not determine the performance of that team in the season to come. If Chelsea, Mna utd, Liverpool play all the big teams around the world, is not a guarantee that they will do better than Arsenal, mind you, Arsenal will still play world class teams like Atletico Madrid and Rangers and PSG in the annual Emirates Cup tournament. or would you rather prefer Arsenal starts off with A team in Hong Kong or China before we know is Pre-season?. Why do people just sit on the fence to criticize anything Arsenal.
this aint a fair deal for man utd they can beat these teams easy bring on a little competition
nobody except losers associated with ManUre gives a monkey's about the world club cup,and asia is hardly the home of the strongest football sides in the world, you @#$%.
Atletico and Hannover are hardly minnows - I say fair play to Arsenal for helping out the wee teams like Barnet and at least Arsene Wenger plays an attractive passing game.
ARSANAL play minnons. MAN UNITED play world clubs. MAN UNITED whip world clubs
and take the title "world club champions" not some cup with some arab name to it
BEL pa zed
i cant see were playing Barnet and going to Austria/Switzerland to play teams made up of part time player and farmers is going to give us any experience to help us with the coming season. Pre-season should be played againce north american teams who are in there season at the moment and againce experience players.

Arsenal Ladies play in Borham wood the reserves play at barnet
Wenger refuses to take his team to either North America or Asia because of the distance involved in travelling. He will have his summer camp in either Austria or Switzerland again. As people have said they always play Barnet because they also allow the arsenal ladies play home matches there as well.
To #5. a couple of seasons ago we had a flying start in which were in front by a long way and then the Eduardo incident happened.
IMO arsenal just a playground for wenger...
he confidence on the beginning, but when end of season came and he failed, he said "these players need more experience for their age" as a reason...
im going to emirates cup day 2 with my mum i cant wait!!!!
#5 ..... lurrrrvvv it - how right you are!! i'm stateside and would luv to see AFC this side of the pond!
manu , chelski, lpool and the best teams in europe go to north america for a summer tornament and arsenal play Barnet and you wonder why we are off to a shiite start to the season the past few years..
Arsenal's reserve side use barnet's ground to play their fixtures and so arsenal always play barnet pre-seaon. a visit from arsenal gives them their biggest gate of the season and so plenty of gate receipts. quid pro quo if you like.
arsenal play barnet as a gesture as barnet lend arsenal their stadium for the reserve games.
arsenal's feeder club
