Premier League new-boys Burnley have broken their transfer record to sign Scotland striker Steven Fletcher from Hibernian for £3 million.
The 22-year-old, who has four Scotland caps, joins the Turf Moor club for their first Premier League campaign having scored 52 goals 190 appearances at Easter Road.
Fletcher becomes the club's second signing in a day following full-back Tyrone Mears' capture.
Fletcher has agreed a four-year contract with the Clarets, who will pay the SPL club double their previous record fee having shelled out £1.5m for both Martin Paterson and Chris Eagles last year.
The forward was named Scottish Football Writers' Young Player of the Year in 2007-08 and attracted the interest of Celtic earlier this year.
Mears, meanwhile, has signed for around £500,000 after spending time on loan at Marseille last season.
Mears, 26, is looking for a change of luck in the top flight after a shattering experience in the 2007-08 season.
He was part of the Derby side that finished bottom of the table with an all-time low tally of 11 points.

#13 NAW!!
HAIL HAIL!
Jim i think you will find that a couple of seasons ago when he was even younger Fletcher was linked with a transfer to Real Madrid but they failed to make a firm offer for him.
Good potential in the lad and prefer paying for a younger striker rather than same cash for J scotland, as for dirty celtic supporters on here fack off and leave it to Burnley and Rangers. hail hail coyle facked you off
glad to see new boys burnley make an effort to bring players in in order to survive in the premiership.
pt9 £3m + mate the total is £3.8 made up of appearances i agree a overrated player but if he gets the c hance to shine he might just make it
pt1 how wrong are you real were the first club to go for him
£3m he aint worth good job we didnae spend that on him,not a problem.
Donney...you feelin awrite there?
#6 they wanted him last season but didnt offer enough(penny pinching at septic again)
decent player but no what the celts ned at the minute. As for burnley beating celtic to the signature...if the celts had really wanted him they would have got him.
As a Celtic supporter, i am quite relieved we never signed him, an ok player in the SPL, but nothing special. What Celtic need is pace and power up front and in defence. Our scouts need to be looking at some of these young African players who hold or qualify for EU passports. What decent Scottish players that are about, are already at the club. Easy champs next season, but with style..

Gary - we all know the money is the main attraction, but the fact that Fletch will be viewed by a wider tv audience is the added bonus he has. It allows him to be viewed on the bigger stage. Put it this way - panto season at the Glesga Pavilion wi' Christian and Dorothy Paul, or 6 months in Hollywood filming a blockbuster movie with Cameron Diaz and Vin Diesel?.. Tough choice, ain't it?? LOL!!
Lies this fatty ugly scottish yokel was never link with transfer real madrid stuped eurosport
