Wolves have continued their squad building ahead of the new Premier League season with the capture of Southampton midfielder Andrew Surman.
The 22-year-old has left his boyhood club for a seven-figure fee, believed to be £1.2 million, to give the debt-ridden Saints a vital cash injection.
Surman, a former England Under-21 international, has signed a three-year deal at Molineux with the option of a further 12 months.
He told the club's official website: "This is a great move for me and I'm really excited. To come to a Premier League club, and one as big as Wolves, is fantastic.
"We'd had a disappointing season at Southampton. I think we had enough quality in the team to be able to do something but unfortunately it all went sour and we ended up getting relegated, which is never nice to have on your CV.
"I'm ready to go again with Wolves. Even though it looks a young side here it's also a very experienced side when you consider how many games they have played."

Rosebud - funny name for a bloke!!
You're either a disappointed Southampton fan or a closet Tesco carrier bag fan!
However long we stay - we're there, you're not!!!
'as big as wolves'.... hilarious!.... and as for some of the other comments... dear oh dear, i think your in for a shock... i know your all excited about being back in the top flight but dont talk @#$%!.. you'll get a couple of good results early on like hull did, then like hull did you'll gradually slide down to a scrap at the end.. hope you stay up though cos wolves is always a good crack away.. got some good 'lads' up there.. wink wink...
My friend recommended me a very interesting place == AgelessFriends @ com == It's a nice and free place for Younger Women and Older Men, or Older Women and Younger Men, to interact with each other. You may wanna check it out.
mike, you really need to take some geography lessons! Calling Wolves "Brummie inbreeds" is akin to calling people from Southampton "Londoners"!! I assume you are from Southampton as, if you had a football club to support, you'd be writing on their forum and not here!!
Mike I would love to bash you to pieces if you ever come to Wolves tell me and we will have toe toe! A nice little meet some where bring some of your boys if you wish! And I will show you inbred you gutless f@(ker
who cares really.. wolves are going back where they belong BRUMMIE inbreeds
Sorry! That should have read the ONLY football club in his area!!!
I feel so sorry for Deep Sea Diver! The only decent football club in his area is soon going to be Portsmouth!!!!!!!!!!
Wolves are going to surprise some PL teams they have plenty of speed and some solid midfielders. Need another defender though. Mancienne has said he'd like to play there again after his stint last year plus only 2 mill which would be a bargain. A young hungry squad with some experience these guys could get things done.
best 2 million spent saints lose wolves are looking really good bet a few clubs will think twice when it comes to playing us now come on boys top 10 finish
#6. Yep, reminds me of when we sold Andy Gray to Everton for £250,000! He went on to win the League, Cup and ECWC...I think Surman is an absolute bargain and fits in really well with the young & hungary policy.
Wolves got a bargain in the clear out sale so Southampton can pay the players wages, if they default players are then free to negotiate with other clubs and Wolves picked the right time to solve this and grab a bargain, pity other clubs didn't do this also might have got more money for him I think he was worth at least 2 mill maybe more.
Up the Wolves.....
deep sea diver at the end of the season you will eat your words as wolves will qualify for europe and saints will go down again . the lads made a good decision we think you had the bends in the brain too long
You must have a huge arse, Deep Sea Diver.
As big as wolves my a r s e
Wolves have got themselves a bargain but in the circumstances a pretty fair price. As a SAINTS fan of many years standing I'm sorry to see him go, but wish him and Wolves the best of luck. Hope we have a decent sell on clause etc.
