After Brazil star Kaka joined Real Madrid from Milan, we look at the full saga involving the playmaker.
November 27, 2008 - Kaka: "I know it is the best league in the world, so one day, maybe. I don't know when - but it would be great to play in the Premier League. I have a lot of friends who are playing there so I have watched some games; I speak with Robinho sometimes about Manchester City."
January 13, 2009 - Manchester City table a bid in excess of 100 million euros for Kaka. Milan director Umberto Gandini: "The only thing I can say is that the offer is huge and the club is pondering it carefully,"
January 15, 2009 - Kaka: "My objective is to become, in the future, captain of this team (Milan)."
January 15, 2009 - Mark Hughes: "There's no time limit. February 2 is when the (transfer) window closes and negotiations are still taking place."
January 16, 2009 - Mark Hughes reveals where Kaka will fit into the Manchester City line up.
January 18, 2009 - Milan fans urge Kaka to stay after a 1-0 win over Fiorentina.
January 20, 2009 - Manchester City shelve Kaka bid. City executive chairman, Garry Cook: "He has turned down the money and he won't ask for an increase. He prefers to stay at Milan."
April 6, 2009 - Spanish newspaper Marca report that in-coming Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has agreed a deal with Milan for Kaka. The deal is said to be in the region of 60 million euros.
April 9, 2009 - Kaka: "I have not had contact with Real; no one has tried to contact me"
April 7, 2009 - Adriano Galliani - "Kaka is not for sale and Florentino will eventually realise this."
May 30, 2009 - Florentino Perez: "We will speak to Milan for Kaka, I have a great relationship with Adriano Galliani, and this will make it easier for Kaka to come to Madrid."
June 2, 2009 - Kaka: "I'll say it for the last time. The last time. I don't want to leave Milan. Leave me in peace, please."
June 3, 2009 - Chelsea are forced to deny reports that they have bid £73.5m for Kaka, with Milan insisting that if he is sold it will be to Madrid.
June 1-8, 2009 - Daily news reports in Spain continually insist that Kaka will sign for Madrid and that he will be presented on Monday June 8. Madrid technical director Zinedine Zidane goes as far as to say that the Brazilian has already signed. Milan, meanwhile, admit that they may sell him to help clear the club's debt but deny an agreement has been reached. Rumours imply that the sticking point is the size of his signing-on fee and demands of a 50 per cent image rights share.
June 8, 2009 - The Brazilian Football Confederation announce that Kaka has undergone a medical with Madrid doctors in Recife, Brazil where he is preparing for a national team game against Paraguay.
June 8, 2009 - Real complete the signing of Kaka for a reported 68 million euros.

haha funny benadi (post 3) Juventus cheatED, so that's the past not the present.... also juventus didn't cheat, Moggi was the cheat and he is officially out of the football world now.... Haha at least we hav loyal players that love the club and stay with us even when we relegate to Serie B... i dont see a lot of madrid players doing that if they would go to the Segunda División... only Raúl, Casillas, and Maybe Ramos wud stay.... Nice team there...
Ooh and post 13, Juventus is more than just Del Piero, he's simply the heart of the team.... and i think ur grandma wudnt be the top scorer of the serie A with 22goals (last season) and this season scoring 13 goals.... And Cannavaro isnt exactly a deal i agree with, but not as if he'll play full matches anyway.... Real Madrid are idiots that they want to let go of Robben, while he's the only player (with Higuain) in their team last season that actually looked bothered to TRY and win a match... i didnt see Mr. Raúl "El anciano" González looking interested.... only reason he scored 18 goals was because Higuain and Robben were doing all the hard work laying the assists.....
kaka gives more than 50% of his wages to charity this move means he will b giving more to worth while causes....a great footballer and a great person...a humbler honest footballer are there any more like him....???
ha ha so much for kaka being religious and he wanted to stay at milan.
signing on fee would feed a country for 1 month.
of course city are pathetic for not signing him and i support them.
We will see who Tevez signs for this week when united are trying to get out of paying the 25 million for him
This must be a painful snub for Manchester City. Kaka refuses their £100 million deal, yet moves to Real Madrid for £59 million saying that he has moved because AC are in financial trouble. Man City is pathetic!!
Come on Kaka. I thought you wanted to stay at AC Milan? Why did you still go to Real Madrid when you insist you will stay? Where is your loyalty? No doubt, Real Madrid are one of the best and richest teams in Europe. But what's the reason to leave AC Milan for Real Madrid? AC Milan is a great team too. Maybe its the fame and fortune i guess...
La Liga is the utter @#$% ...... Kaka is going down the Real toilet drain hole ........ I feel sory abt him ...... It's the begining of his end ..... By-by Kaka ......
funny the dude who is asking to stay away from Juventus players.. let's see: DelPiero is as old as my granma.. oh wait, we gave you back the granpa (cannavaro)... Rubish cheaters!
guys forget it all we have just put the hat around and we at Ipswich Town will be gazumping Real Madrid tonight and will take kaka to Ipswich Town from under their noses Roy Keane know all the right people so all you dreamers WATCH THIS SPACE
....You cant just put players together and expect them to gel, thats why we, Barcelona, have worked so well this season. Guardiola has combined discipline, which Riijkard did not have, with the fact that players like Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Puyol have played together for around 10 years in the youth system, together. We're a team, the likes of Xavi, Iniesta know each others movement and ability like the back of their hand, thats why we play such a good passing game, and Guardiola's discipline now means we press constantly, players are kept in line. Perez coming back for Madrid will put them in dire straights, he clearly hasnt learned from last time on the transfer front that signing players of "galactico standard" and then just putting them together wont work, I also dont think Pellegrini is up to task of handling what will be such an egotistical squad, if its put together, compared to what he is used to managing at humble Villarreal. Perez will take away his power, and they wont win La Liga, its a big mistake for Madrid, and Kaka
this doesn't mean that he signed. I still have fait in kaka's good ethics
and comment 1, i'm with you!!!
forzza milan
Real is miserable!!!Their transfer policy is absurd..They sign up only those players with great names....Kaka, this is your greatest mistake!!!!
Real madrid rule and kaka will be at his best there
iits tru thatt madrid always pressure clubs and make large illustrious bids, , it is deffintly a lil bit like they bully teams into selling there players , ,thank you fergie stood up to the twits
sounds like you feel threatened Mr Fowler (5).................................................... .....
thankgod kaka isn,t going 2 eastlands....theyve massive enough without him....ha ha ha
Real needs a new Makelele for example...But ok building a new generation with good atacking players is why Real Madrid is a kings club...
hello @#$%
