Teenager Michael White beat Paul Davison 5-3 to win the second event of the Pontin's Pro Am Series in Prestatyn.
Neath cueman White, 17, came from two frames down to take a 4-2 lead thanks to breaks of 56, 52, 54 and 60.
Davison - 20 years White's senior - pulled one back before the Welsh teenager closed the match out.
The tournament saw a number of entrants from both the main tour and the PIOS ranks battle it out.
Robbie Williams accounted for the highest ranked player in the line-up, Dave Harold, 5-3 in the last 32 before knocking out world number 21 Stuart Bingham in the third round.
Williams's run was ended by White who beat Nick Jennings 5-2 in the last four. The other top 32 player in the field, Judd Trump, was beaten 5-3 by Davison in the semi-finals.
The top 48 players after the four qualiying events will compete for the £5,000 first prize at the Grand Finals weekend, won last year by Jamie Cope. Andrew Norman won the first event of the season.
