Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has agreed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.
The 18-year-old arrived at Emirates Stadium from Cardiff last summer in what was understood to be a £5million deal.
Ramsey made 22 first-team appearances for the Gunners, which started with the Champions League qualifier against Steve McClaren's FC Twente.
The former Cardiff youngster netted his first, and so far only, senior goal in the 5-2 European victory at Fenerbahce during October, and Gunners manager Arsene Wenger is more than happy with Ramsey's progress so far.
"Aaron made a very good contribution in his first season and he showed that he is a very intelligent player with great quality," said Wenger.
"He is still only 18 and we are really looking forward to seeing him develop with us in the forthcoming years."

you got to start recognising the home grown talent, that understand the long term future of the club, with foreign player caps sure to come in at some point.
ref post 1 Aaron is just one player in the squad why bankrupt the club for short term gain lets have 25 great young players who the manager can turn to in case of injury
I ca not understand this short sighted approach to win tin ware at all costs i believe the Gunners have been top leauge now for over 110 years That must be down to poor management then!!
Really sad times for the gunners. When the best players are being lapped by all the top clubs, we are handing out contract extensions to average players like Ramsey!! He is a good footballer make no mistake about that but good enough for Wales and the Champioship, not for ARSENAL!!
If it is a youth policy, then we must sign the best youngsters in the world and ship out the loads of average starlets presently in the first team and bench.
