Simpson seeking goals

Wed 01 Jul, 02:30 PM

Huddersfield's new signing Robbie Simpson is already dreaming of scoring regularly for his new club in the Championship the season after next.

Simpson, who signed for the Terriers from Coventry last month for a reported £300,000 fee, is confident of firing the goals to help Lee Clark's side challenge for promotion in League One during the 2009/10 campaign.

Simpson told the club's official website: "I feel that Lee can develop me as a player and it's possible that I could be playing in the Championship for Huddersfield Town next season if things go well."

The 24-year-old added: "It was very frustrating for me at Coventry. I was pushed out to the wing and given that people know me as a striker, my goalscoring record doesn't look very good.

"I'm looking forward to playing there again. I'm very confident that I can score goals regularly in League One, just as I'm sure that I could in the Championship if I played up front."

  1. All the best to a player who gave everything at Coventry, playing unselfishly out wide on the right or the left as the manager tried to give the team some width. The best of luck at Huddersfield.
