Beattie helps Baggies beat Bulls

Fri 01 Aug, 11:15 PM

West Brom continued their preparations for the Premier League season with a 2-1 win over Hereford, who were undone by Craig Beattie's double. There were no goals in the first half as the newly-promoted League One side fought hard to keep Albion at bay and created opportunities of their own.

The Bulls then took the lead on 51 minutes when Gerry Ani headed home a Steve Guinan cross.

Beattie levelled for West Brom in the 64th minute following a goalmouth scramble to set up an exciting finish.

The former Celtic forward then stole in unmarked after 75 minutes to head in his second of the night and secure victory for the Baggies.
