Gallas Stays As Gunners Skipper

Fri 01 Aug, 11:09 PM

Arsenal have confirmed William Gallas will remain as captain for the new season.

The 30-year-old French defender skippered the Gunners last term and has been chosen for the job again, ahead of potential contenders such as Cesc Fabregas.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said: "If he plays, he will be captain.

"If he does not play, it will be somebody else. But William will be the club captain, yes."

  1. i think gallas did not deserve to captain gunners hence loyalman is there(kolo 2ray). wenger should give respect to him .or maybe is french like him dat is y he select him but he didnt deserve it

  2. i think kolo should be captain, not only is he the most loyal of the boys, but he is one of the invincibles. cesc has to much work to do creating magic in midfield to worry about other peoples play and not enough time to direct the boys mid game. i think teams this year are gonna be on cesc like a rash. kolo has far more time on his hands during a game and can see the whole team infront of him.

some one mentioned that cesc should be captain because he hasn't left the club, a bad idea and anyway, he's under contract so it's not a case of he decided to stay, more a case of he wouldn't be able to leave if he wanted to.

  5. let someone else be a captain..like febregas,RVP or someone at midfielder line..Gallas is too old to be a caiptain and usually not consistant performance..

  9. Give him a chance. I reckon he'll of learnt from last season, and will be a much better captain this season.

If he hasn't learnt, then we've got cesc or kolo just waiting to take the armband off him.
