Latics Tie Up Palacios

Fri 01 Aug, 06:09 PM

Wigan midfielder Wilson Palacios has signed a new deal at the JJB Stadium.

The Honduran impressed after following manager Steve Bruce to the Latics from Birmingham in January and, along with team-mate Antonio Valencia, was rumoured to be attracting attention from the Premier League's heavyweights.

But Palacios has today put pen to paper on a new contract, although the length has not been revealed.

The 24-year-old told Wigan's official website: "Why would I want to leave Wigan? I've enjoyed every minute since linking up with manager Steve Bruce again and I love the Wigan fans.

"The climax to last season was amazing and I am proud to be playing with Wigan (in) the best league in the world."
