FOOTBALL 2006-2007 SPL Rangers Kris Boyd - 0

Kris Boyd, debutant Andy Webster and Carlos Cuellar all scored, while Gretna defender Aurelien Collin inadvertently added to Rangers' goal tally.

There was also a debut for Steven Naismith, who joined from Kilmarnock ahead the transfer deadline and came off the bench for the closing minutes to a rapturous welcome.

Steven Fletcher's first-half spot-kick was enough to give Hibernian 1-0 win over Inverness in a tale of two penalties at Easter Road.

The youngster found the net from 12 yards after Stuart McCaffrey handled inside the box after just 60 seconds.

However, Hibs had goalkeeper Yves Ma-Kalambay to thank for keeping their lead intact after he made amends for last week's blunders against Aberdeen by saving a penalty from Marius Niculae before the break.

A stunning late free-kick from Barry Robson capped a fine 2-0 win for 10-man Dundee United over Falkirk at Tannadice.

The visitors almost took the lead in the eighth minute when Darren Dods headed a Russell Latapy corner off his own crossbar, but it was United who struck first as Noel Hunt beat Falkirk's offside trap to score early in the second half.

Morgaro Gomis was then sent off after receiving two cautions in four minutes, but Robson secured the win for United six minutes from time with a superb drive.

Lee Miller earned Aberdeen their first SPL win of the season as they claimed a 1-0 success at Kilmarnock.

Miller flicked home the only goal following a 53rd-minute corner as the game burst to life after an uneventful opening half.

The visitors survived several penalty appeals and some intermittent second-half pressure to take the points.
