Mon 01 Sep, 10:15 AM

Belgian club Cercle Brugge have rejected a bid from Premier League outfit West Brom for star striker Tom De Sutter. The Baggies are believed to have tabled a bid in the region of 2.3million euros for the giant forward as Tony Mowbray looks to bolster his attacking options.

The 23-year-old is highly-regarded in Belgium and Mowbray saw the big target man as an ideal addition to his squad.

Cercle Brugge president Frans Schotte confirmed they had turned down a sizeable bid from West Brom for De Sutter as they do not want to lose the player.

"It was a lot of money but we are not prepared to let Tom go," Schotte told Het Nieuwsblad.

De Sutter admitted he was disappointed to see a move to England fail to materialise.

"Ultimately, it is The Premier League, something that every footballer dreams about," he said.
