Boruc could face SFA action

Mon 01 Sep, 01:15 PM

Artur Boruc could face disciplinary action after he was photographed apparently gesturing to Rangers fans during Sunday's 4-2 loss at Parkhead. The Celtic goalkeeper, who was at fault for Daniel Cousin's first-half opener, was taunted by the Rangers supporters after he gifted Kenny Miller his second goal which helped the visitors to a comprehensive win.

A spokesman for the Scottish Football Association said: "We will be referring the incident to the review panel to see if there is a case to answer.

"We are trying to get it arranged for this week, but if not, it will be early next week."

After the Old Firm defeat, Celtic manager Gordon Strachan promised to speak to the Poland international.

Boruc was axed from the Poland squad last week by national coach Leo Beenhakker, along with international team-mates Dariusz Dudka and Radoslaw Majewski, following allegations concerning their late-night behaviour in the aftermath of a friendly against Ukraine.

The trio have been banned by the Polish FA for the World Cup qualifiers against Slovenia and San Marino.

Strachan alluded to the goals Boruc sloppily conceded as "bizarre", but would only say: "I will speak to Artur, see how he feels and we will analyse it from there."

  1. If you ask me, Boruc had a blinder! Best player on the pitch! Anyone else agree? On a serious note, get it up yeez, hammered 4-2 on yer own ground, and as for that muppet that had the "Oh My God You Signed Kenny" Banner, at least we signed a few players with a bit of quality about them. The guy who was "The most natural finisher of the ball in the team" quote from Strachan; has just left for Hibs, now what you gonna do? Hope for a couple of free-kicks on the edge of the area every game so that Naka or Robson can have a dig.....

  4. does the huns, agree with me then ehat if boruc gets the book thrown at him for his gesture, then kenny miller and co should get done too for the over the top goal celebrations? players are supposed to get booked for leaving the field of play, are they not?

  5. he's a big boy so he'll need to take his medicine-gazza got hammered for the flute, you lot moaned like hell with healy, so time for you to face up to the fact that your keeper is typical of great players, when things are going fine he gets all the plaudits and rightly so, but when he's had a shocker and re-acts to chants from the crowd he should get punished-i'm a hun and think he's a great keeper but if he's gonna except the praise then he's got to accept the pelters-anyway get it up you!!

  6. Me I think there is a difference between banter and giving the finger. If you remember Gazza got death threats after his flute playing.

  7. Here me do you also remember complain about these guys too. Kicking up a big stink and with Gazza he got fined 3 weeks wages £60000 if I remember right. Yet this muppet not only wears his god bless the pope t-shirt, give the 1 finger salute to the opposition fans refusing to shake hands at the end of a match and his antics against Hibs. Yet still not touched. Makes no difference to me what that @#$% does I counldn't give a monkeys about him said for ages hes a liability to Celtic. But he better start getting punished for these things, cause the more he does this the more he thinks he can't be touched and then he will cause a huge problem. And its leads to mindless bigoted arses like you to think this is great for our football.
