Stockport boss Jim Gannon has vowed to field "as strong a team as possible" when Port Vale visit Edgeley Park in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.County were thrashed 3-0 at home by Scunthorpe on Saturday and Gannon is seeking an immediate response.
It was their first defeat since winning promotion with victory in last season's League Two play-off final.
Tommy Rowe and Dom Blizzard missed the defeat due to hamstring strains to join a casualty list which includes long-term absentees Jason Taylor, Matty McNeil and Johnny Mullins.
Rowe and Blizzard look set to miss out again but Gannon said: "It's up to us to be strong and bounce back.
"We'll put out as strong a team as possible on Tuesday night, and I'll be looking for a good response."
The match will kick-off at 7.15pm.
