George wanted for Cats revolution

Mon 01 Sep, 02:45 PM

Sunderland have made a beat-the-deadline bid to bring West Ham defender George McCartney back to the Stadium of Light, according to reports.McCartney has been chased by the Black Cats all summer, but the Northern Ireland rejected their overtures to pledge his future to West Ham.

Sunderland chief Roy Keane is keen to bring in one more new signing before the close of the transfer window as he looks to solve his problematic left-back quandry.

The 27-year-old arrived at Upton Park from Sunderland in 2006 in a swap deal with Clive Clarke and he quickly established himself in East London.

McCartney recently signed a new deal at Upton Park, but Sunderland are hoping to persuade the Hammers to do business with a big-money offer.

It is believed McCartney is currently on Wearside undergoing a medical as Sunderland look to tie up a deal before the close of the transfer window.

Ok, So George wanted to go for personal reasons, but surely Curbishley new he was going, but still never went into the transfer market for a replacement left back, he clearly thinks Lucas Neil can play there.....Breaking News Curbs....Neil cant even play at Fu**ing right back,so what makes you think he can play there ?
