Gilligan to miss Trophy clash

Mon 01 Sep, 01:30 PM

Northampton manager Stuart Gray will be without midfielder Ryan Gilligan for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash at home to Brighton.Gilligan opened the scoring in Saturday's 4-1 defeat at Tranmere but picked up a hamstring injury and was replaced after just 36 minutes.

Gray said: "Ryan will be out for at least 10 days but hopefully he will be back for the game against Peterborough."

Captain Chris Doig was also forced off at Prenton Park after having stitches in a head wound but could keep his place as Gray names a strong side.

Saturday's trip to face Stockport has been postponed due to international call-ups so Gray will not need to rest key players.

Leon Constantine and Colin Larkin (both thigh) could return but there are doubts over Jason Crowe (hip) and Giles Coke (groin).

Chris Dunn will continue in goal after Mark Bunn's move to Blackburn.
