Midfielder Tom Taiwo could make his first start for Port Vale in the club's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash against Stockport at Edgeley Park.The Chelsea youngster came on as a second-half substitute in Saturday's 3-1 win over Bournemouth having joined on an initial one-month loan deal.

Midfielder Paul Edwards is yet to recover from a long-term ankle injury and remains sidelined, while striker Steve Edwards also remains doubtful with a hamstring strain.

Shane Tudor was due to return to training on Monday after a recent knee problem but the cup tie is expected to come too soon for him to feature.

Having won the competition twice in their history, Vale will travel to the north-west looking to secure their safe passage into the next stage.

Tuesday's match kicks off at 7.15pm.
