Champions League - Scolari knows Cluj danger

Chelsea boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has insisted that he is more than aware of the threat CFR Cluj can pose in their Champions League Group A clash.

Romanian minnows Cluj shocked Roma with a 2-1 win at the Stadio Olimpico, but Scolari claimed that they are not an unknown quantity to him.

"I know about Cluj. I know more than you think," Scolari (pictured) said. "I know they have 11 Portuguese people playing there, and I follow them. When I was with the Portugal national team, I heard news about Cluj every week.

"I have all the information I need about them. I have told my players what to expect.

The Bordeaux game was a good experience for us but the game against Cluj will be different," he added.

"If Cluj can win away from home then we are in danger."

Chelsea will have to do without Deco and Ricardo Carvalho, who are both injured, while Salomon Kalou and Joe Cole are doubtful.

Kalou's ankle injury is less serious than Cole's hip complaint so the Ivorian forward is expected to feature. Cole is likely to be rested.

Bordeaux v Roma

Bordeaux should have midfielders Wendel and Alou Diarra back after they sat out the 1-1 draw with St Etienne. Veteran goalkeeper Ulrich Rame is set to miss the clash because of a groin problem.

Roma - who were shocked by Cluj in the first match - welcome back French defender Philippe Mexes but there are doubts over captain Francesco Totti (knee).

    Cfr is a team that showed more determination and skill than their wealthiest opponent. let`s stick up with the reality around us and be fair play off the field.

  10. Hey Picu_liviu, you may be right but you need to have some English Grammer lessons. The way you put your verbs is hard to tell whether you´re talking in the past or the future. That puts on check your understanding of the English League. May be you just don´t get it too.

  11. Lordben you "DON´T JUST GET IT, yOU´RE LIKE jOHN mACKAIN". Deco turns for Chelsea while Walcot turns for Arsenal. Therefore the Idea of the two returning to the team just doesn´t make any sense. Only Deco can return to the team. Check this out!
    Otherwise I´m a Gunner but I like the Blues and I feel that if the Gunners can´t make it, then better the Blues. Alex Furgusob just like you doesn´t get it neither.

  16. We really do need them to be out from injury so as to remain strong and stronger especially Deco and Sinclair should be given a chance cos he is good, very good and should be better than walcot if he plays regularlly.
