New Zealand winger Lelia Masaga has been ruled out for the rest of the year after undergoing shoulder surgery, according to his provincial team Counties-Manukau.
The 23-year-old, who underwent surgery on the long-standing injury on Tuesday, made his Test debut against Italy in Christchurch in June after impressing for the Waikato Chiefs in the Super 14.
He joins a lengthening list of injured players including centres Isaia Toeava and Richard Kahui, hooker Keven Mealamu and locks Ali Williams and Bryn Evans, who will be unavailable for the All Blacks' end-of-season northern hemisphere tour.
