Triple Olympic champion Chris Hoy scooped his third gold of the weekend when he led his three-man team to victory in an all-British team sprint final at the UCI World Cup in Manchester.
Hoy also won the sprint and keirin events as Britain's gold count hit double figures.
British cycling's performance director Dave Brailsford, who oversaw their eight-gold performance in Beijing, said he was not surprised by his squad's impressive performance.
"We always said that after Beijing we were going to back off a bit for a year," he said.
"To be honest I think the rest of the world got a bit chippy and thought that's the end of it and that we were a one-trick pony team.
"So we came into this World Cup wanting to put down a marker and that's what we've done."

What a set up Dave Brailsford has created and what a great bunch of world class cyclists we have at the moment and lets hope they carry it through to 2012 and beyond, but what about the TDF next year can we create a Brit team to do us proud and get us up near the podium on the Chanze lieze in Paris and possibly get a Brit in the first 3 which Bradley almost did this year and be drug free too that would be fantastic, once again well done all you boy and girls you have done us proud.
