Scunthorpe manager Nigel Adkins believes the 2-0 home defeat by Swansea was a reality check for his side.
The Iron were sunk by goals from Craig Beattie and Cedric Van der Gun and Adkins feels his players may have got carried away after recent results.
He said: "We played against an exceptional team who worked very, very hard and passed the ball about and we got a good chasing.
"It's a reality check for a lot of people in respect of, maybe some people got carried away.
"For Scunthorpe United to do well, everyone has to work as hard as they can to give themselves an opportunity to have a game of football."
