Hull boss Phil Brown is confident his side can play their way out of their current predicament after seeing them slip to a 2-0 defeat against Burnley at Turf Moor.
Two goals from Graham Alexander handed victory to the Clarets and the Tigers' woe was compounded when Geovanni was sent off in the second half.
But Brown, who pulled no punches in his assessment of referee Mike Jones, said: "I think what went for us was the commitment of the players, that's the first thing I will say.
"In terms of a manager asking for a committed performance from a group of players who were under pressure because of the situation that we are in. I don't think anybody can question that.
"Yes decisions have gone against us, probably four in total which tends to lend itself to something else. But we're not here to talk about that. With that kind of commitment and that level of performance from my players we'll be fine this season but we have to put a run of games together.
"We've got a big game against Stoke next Sunday and the one thing you need in your locker is commitment."

Referee was a disgrace. It was NEVER a penalty, and geovanni scored a perfectly good goal, and I support Burnley!! Mike Reid
It's just a repeat of last season some of the dicisions against Hull last seson where horrific but who says anything against poor refs only Sir Alex and he gets dragged over the coals for it players get sent off and banned by refs but who bans the ref nobody and yesterdays ref shouldn't be fefing sunday league let alone the prem he's proberbly got Brown the sack after that performance but no doubt he'll be back again robbing another team of three points
I think Phil Brown has had a very rough deal. He tried to sign several forwards but no one wanted to go to Hull. The team played well against Burnley but crucial decisions went against them . It seems that when you're down you get kicked!!
