Aldershot caretaker boss Jason Dodd hailed his "fantastic" players after they held Rotherham to a goalless draw.
The Shots frustrated Ronnie Moore's promotion-hopefuls with a resolute display at the Don Valley Stadium, with goalscoring opportunities at a premium at both ends.
Dodd said: "It is our first clean sheet of the season and our first point since I took over. I am pleased with the players and pleased with their play.
"They were very physical and tried to dominate. Our play was fantastic, especially in the first half.
"Everything we have worked on in training this week they set about doing and the players are just disappointed that we only got one point."
