Veteran Brighton striker Nicky Forster admitted his team need to collectively improve in order to take pressure away from manager Russell Slade.
The Seagulls` 3-3 draw at home to Hartlepool left them with only one win from their last nine games, but Forster believes it would be wrong to blame Slade solely for the poor run.
The match marked the eighth time in 17 games in all competitions that Brighton have conceded at least twice this season, and Forster stressed they are making life difficult for themselves.
He said: "It's not fair to blame the gaffer for this run. We've got to turn it around. The general feeling is that we've got to do better for the manager. We feel he's the right man and we want to do it for him.
"At the moment our start has been poor but we can't keep blaming this on the fact that it's because we've got new personnel. As a group we've got to be more resilient."
