Johnson: Robins performance not good enough

Sun, 01 Nov 12:12:05 2009

Bristol City boss Gary Johnson admitted his team were unrecognisable from the one who clinched victory at Barnsley last week after they were held to a 1-1 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.

Nicky Maynard had put the Robins ahead on the hour, but they were pegged back 15 minutes later when Luke Varney lashed home from the edge of the area and Johnson is not sure that his side even deserved a point.

"We nicked a point because we were all at sea for most of the game," he said. "It's not often we play like that and we have a tough week of training ahead before our next game with Nottingham Forest.

"For some reason we looked disorganised and lacked the sharpness of thought you need at this level.

"I made a couple of changes at half-time because I couldn't delay them any longer. But we were never at the races and in the end it's a good result for us on a bad day."

  2. Once again they lost a one nil lead, this is not promotion form, They need to focus from the first whistle to the last, they also need to be fit enough to play 110 minutes not just 90
