Boss Danny Wilson insists Swindon will be lifted by their performance in the 4-1 win at Tranmere.
Two goals from Billy Paynter in the space of five first-half minutes set the Robins on their way and Anthony McNamee made it three after the break. Chris Shuker got Tranmere back in it with 12 minutes remaining, but Simon Ferry made sure of the points late on.
Wilson was delighted with his side's showing, saying: We proved what we are capable of doing and it should be a big lift for the players. We defended well when we had to and our counter-attack football was excellent.
"It was a testing game for us for the first 20 minutes, but we stuck at it and took control. The first goal was massively important and knocked the confidence out of Tranmere.
"We could easily have had six or seven in the end, but that probably would have been harsh on the home side. There were two bits of real quality for the first two goals and we caused them lots of problems.
"Paynter was unlucky not to get a hat-trick. He's been out for a few games, but showed a great attitude and I'm sure he will have a renewed appetite after this."
