Brendan Rodgers denied he had been feeling the pressure after his Reading team secured their third win of the Coca-Cola Championship season with a 3-1 victory at Coventry.
With the team starting the day in the Championship relegation zone, the Royals had the best possible start when Grzegorz Rasiak headed the game's opening goal after only 28 seconds. Jobi McAnuff doubled their advantage and despite Freddy Eastwood reducing the arrears, Rasiak added a third to seal maximum points for the visitors.
"There is always pressure in football and I thought we were excellent," Rodgers said. "There was a lot of tempo and I talked to the players about controlled passion."
He added: "We had a great start and I have kept enforcing to the players the importance of a strong start. The players had good motivation going into the game and we put quality balls into the box.
"Grzegorz did what he does best and that gave us a good start. It was important we built on that and created other chances and thankfully we took them."

I think we will stay up but it may be a close run thing, will Rodgers stay, I some how doubt it, but go down NO, we are to good,----- I think----- but we do need a couple more quality players up front.
I can't say that Rogers is the worse in Readings history, Roy Bentley goes close to that. I think that Rogers isn't far behind. What happens if they do get rid of Rogers, what ever manager comes in now will still have the same players to coach because of the ban until January to buy in new players, and to get rid of the dead wood that we have now. I know they can loan players. Trouble is, if left too late say, until the January sales time, then it might be to late to save Reading. We can only hope and pray that Reading starts to win more matches, even if they only bring us to half way up the league so that we don't get religated down into Div 1. Come on URZzzzzz.
so what if we won 3-0 at coventry, rodgers is still the worst manager in readings history, so get rid NOW!!!
