Northampton boss Ian Sampson felt a 1-0 defeat at Torquay was harsh on his side.
Chris Hargreaves scored the only goal of the game with a header in the 81st minute but Sampson felt the scoreline was not a true reflection of the game.
"It was a pretty even game really and I thought it could have gone either way," he said.
"The one real chance they had from the long throw-in they had, Chrissy Hargreaves has stuck away so I was disappointed in that respect. It just crept in.
"Obviously we have been on a good run and I am disappointed that has come to an end but now I will be looking for a response."
