Exeter manager Paul Tisdale paid tribute to Steve Tully after the full-back scored his first goal for the Grecians in a 3-0 win over Brentford.
Tully struck on the stroke of half-time, with Exeter leading through Bertie Cozic's deflected opener, with a brilliant volley from 12 yards that went in off the underside of the crossbar.
The Grecians added a third with Craig Noone swivelling superbly before unleashing a fine shot into the corner, but it was Tully's first goal for the club - and almost three years to the day since his last goal for Weymouth - that had everyone talking.
"It was a terrific goal," Tisdale said. "He very rarely enters the other half of the field and I have a confession to make actually because I was screaming at him to get back as I wanted Dan Seaborne up there.
"Maybe it is a sign of things to come - I hope not, but he was certainly at the right place at the right time. Maybe I should review my attacking strategy. It was a terrific finish."
