Gianfranco Zola was disappointed to see his side throw away a 2-0 lead at Sunderland, as they ended up settling for a point.
The Hammers were on course for just a second win of the season until Kieron Richardson's goal deservedly pulled the home side level.
The Italian admitted he could not tolerate the second-half display which denied his side a first win since the opening day of the season.
Zola said: "Certainly their determination, their desire, was superior to ours, simple as that. They just overcame the man light that they had and that was it.
"We lost control of the game. From a game that was totally, totally ours, we let them in and in this league you can't afford that. We had chances after but it was too late.
"From how the team played in the first half we should come out with a victory. To be fair their comeback was remarkable because it wasn't an easy situation."

I am an ex greenjob of the 3rd batt , your team did well during the first half but then sat back and threw the game away. Still think you will survive the drop tho
Absolutely agree, Noble is average most of the time you won't have to defend a 0 2 lead if you keep attacking..
Totally agree with previous comment, but also get rid of Noble, dosent add anything to the side, over rated, far better players in our mid field who should be given a chance of a run in the side.
Then get you tactics right and play some of the talented kids you have sitting on the bench, hines and stanislas would terrorise any defence, to protect a lead you also have to counter, so take off the tired strikers and bring on the kids, it aint rocket science.
