Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari will not face FA charge over comments made about referee Mike Dean following the 2-1 defeat at home to Arsenal.
Scolari accused Dean of "killing" Chelsea and demanded an apology after Dean and his assistant allowed Robin van Persie's equaliser for Arsenal, which should have been ruled offside.
The Brazilian escaped punishment despite the FA's recent crackdown on criticism of referees as part of the much-maligned 'Respect' campaign.
Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United, David Moyes of Everton, Joe Kinnear of Newcastle and Phil Brown of Hull City have all been fined following run-ins with officials this season.
Scolari's comments came after the flag stayed down when the offside Van Persie collected a pass from Denilson on the edge of the penalty area, before smashing the ball past Petr Cech.
He said: "Have you ever heard me speak about referees any time in the games I have been here? Never, in 15 in the Premier League, four in the Champions League, the Carling Cup, I have not said anything, but today is different.
"I do not want the referee to make something different - I want only after tomorrow that he looks at the television, that the referee and the linesman see they are wrong, and they say 'sorry'.
"That is all I want, no more, because they were not good and made a mistake, which I understand.
"I do not want three points, all I want is them to say sorry it was a mistake, because in the first half, the same linesman made a mistake against us with [Salomon] Kalou.
"He is human and he can make a mistake, but the offside has killed my team. I just want them to say they are wrong, because I am wrong when I put some players in, or the players are wrong when they make a mistake in front of goal or are not covering.
"These are all wrong, but the referee is never wrong. I do not think they came here to deliberately make a mistake against us.
"It is difficult to play for my team after this, because they lost their concentration. The offside killed my team."
Van Persie admitted he had strayed beyond the last man but said the goal was payback for one he had incorrectly disallowed against Chelsea in 2005.
He said: "I scored a goal against Chelsea [in 2005]. I was onside, but the ref gave it offside and it didn't count. This time was maybe a little bit offside, but it counted and that's all that matters."

Hello Old Gooner here. Mr Scolari Is right to be miffed about Robin V P's Off-sided goal..How-ever he should vent his anger at the Linesman who gave the Ref the wrong message. But let's not be too Political here. Many a great goial has been given or denied by Linesman and Refereeing decisions. What goes round comes round. But my beloved Arsenal deserved that win against Chelsea. The 2nd half was the best football I have seen since that famous win against Man Utd. Does this give the Gunners a chance of the title? NO, why? because they should have have won the games they lost but I live in hope....As far as the Ronaldo "Hand Ball" Talk about verbal cheating, how dare he say he "Heard a whistle". It was clear it wasn't the Ref's..He could have headed the ball away from his face but chose to Handball it away, the guy is a Con Artist, and being voted European Player of the year, just takes the shine of his stature. Cheers Old Gooner.
i'm with u dear,Scolare u r right and yesterday i was so depressed of that result
I understand Scholari perfectly well, and he said what he said in a fair way - if this kind of comments would involve a charge, the FA's approach to criticism should be reconsidered.
So many of you are missing the point!! No one is asking for a re evaluation of the score or result. All that is asked is a simple appology for an obvious error!! Forgivness would surely follow.
.
As an Arsenal fan for over 60 years and seen some of the decisions both for and against Arsenal during that time and some of the lame excuses that have been made by some of the top managers, Scolari's comments were mild but at the same time he seems to think but not commenting that John Terry can do no wrong i.e. the two footed tackle on Bacary Sagna. And Sir Alex seems to think that Ronaldo can do what he likes and ignores the fact that a deliberate hand ball is a yellow card. amd I have not seen anywhere about the clapping by him in the referees face which could quite easily have been a second yellow and a red much earlier in the game.
I like Scolaris Approach, whats the problem with a simple sorry for a genuine mistake, people who appolagise for genuine errors are far more easily forgiven and respected as opposed to those who are clearly wrong and yet stand firm.. The result stands anyway. It takes a big man to say sorry!!
Clearly the FA do not necessarilly want correct decissions when goals are at steak, presumeably they have a financial interest in some of these dodgy decissions otherwise they would welcome technology in the same way Rugby has.
Scolari is quick to have a go at the officials but he forgets to thank them for keeping all his players on the pitch, Terry's tackle was horrific and should have been a straight red if that was joey barton would be headline news, seems that being England captain gives you immunity! And the other centre back sorry cant remember his name should have been given at least 2 yellows, Chelsea were lucky they didnt have the ref from the Manchester derby. Playing at home 1 shot on target lol, best team won!
Either way, arsenal won the game. Fair enough if Chelsea were the better team but they had no shots on target in the second half and i think that arsenal showed charachter and determination to win.
....Re: Respect, why can't the Linesmen be more effective and help the Ref sometimes? what is the role of the 4th "Official" meant to be anyway? Why don't they help the ref with controversial or "clear as pea soup" decisions during a match??
Pompey Tone.
....No wonder the "Respect Refs" campaign is hardly working at all, when there's lots of inconsistency, like "Refs "can't" be investigated" but Managers can and do get fined, even for "small" trivial things e.g. Joe Kinnear's "Mickey Mouse Referee" comment agisnt a ref. Why don't Refs seem to show much "respect" for the Managers, with the really tough job they all have in the prem?, particularly those under demanding mega-rich Owners or Chairmen, like Abramovich or the Sheikh of Man City?
Noticably, Felipe Scolari has been "let off" as he's Chelski (big 4) Manager, though he does have some good points about Refs apparently being above reproach.........
Well played Arsenal, making things a bit interesting for once...........
Well played Everton for putting Judas' Tottenham down a bit
Well the referee made a mistake. That's true. But scolari can't say that they lost because of it. If they are better than Arsenal why was the scoreline 1-2 not 4-1??
It is over, refree decission is final. Scolari need to go back to drawing bord -lost two games at home? mark you Abro has a lot to spent he want result not complains. Big kudos to Fabi for a team work.

I am a huge Arsenal fan but I have to hold my hands up and say that Big Fil was absolutely right. Maybe that is why he has escaped FA punishment. There has been a lot of talk about the "Respect Campaign" but it is impossible to respect poor refereeing. The Refs and Linesmen do not have easy jobs it is true but it has been plain for all to see this season that most of them fall well below the standard required and fully deserve almost all of the criticism that they receive. The question is could I or anyone else do better? The answer is probably not. Which is why it is long overdue that the football authorities start using the very technology that identifies the mistakes to assist Refs in getting it right. It works in other sports so why not football?
THE REFS ARE KILLING THE GAME i dont watch much now, football is so boring! simple rules can stop some nonsense, like video playback, changing the offside rule that if you are within a yard of an opponent you are not considered offside.this will allow for more goals and a better game.better defending etc.also NO TACKLES FROM THE BACK!THIS IS A MUST!
Scolari is right. The assistant referes are blind
I think people have to learn to take the rough with the smooth and Felipćo knows this to be true, he wasn't born yesterday but I don't think he said anything that would justify a fine. Referee's do make mistakes and they are not above criticism but you can't have a situation where Managers and clubs are bullying them into submission either; somewhere along the line a balence has to be struck.
Scolari doesn't have a "right" to speak out because he hasn't done so for 3 months. I haven't attacked an old lady in over 40 years, but that doesn't mean i now have some credit stored. The main reason Scolari hasn't spoken out is, his PR people have told him to shut up, he sounds awful.
Scolari was right to speak out. He has not once complained about referee's in the 3 and half months with us, despite people being sent off. So he's speaks now they charge him... typical FA!
Do you think ehhhhhhh Abramovich can ehhhhhhh pay FA to ehhhhhh reverse score?
Why did ronaldo behave like that ?Being a star does not mean to do something foolish . Sorry idid not put my name iam black from Zambia
