Newly-crowned Euro F3000 champion Nicolas Prost, son of four-time world champion Alain, is looking for a move into Formula One.
Prost Jr. secured the Euro F3000 title at the Magione circuit in Italy on Sunday and is now hoping that he's done enough to earn himself the right to test for Ferrari.
"I hope this title can help me in the future," said Prost Jr. "I would like to do a test for Ferrari."
Nicolas started his motor racing career at the relatively late age of 22, but in the last five years has picked up experience at Le Mans and in the A1GP series prior to his move to Euro F3000 with the Red Bull team. Entering F1 at 27 would be extremely late by the standards of recent entrants such as Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa, but victory in an F3000 series is a well-recognised stepping stone to the top level.
Alain Prost acknowledged that a drive for Ferrari is his son's dream, and still has good links with the team that he drove for during the 1990 and 1991 seasons.
"I would like him to do a test in Formula One," he said. "I have good relationships with Ferrari so I hope a little bit that they'll give him a test."
If Nicolas Prost were to find a seat in Formula One he would become the third son of a world champion to appear on the current grid, with Williams driver Nico Rosberg and Renault's Nelson Piquet Jr. being the offspring of 1982 champion Keke Rosberg and three-time champion Nelson Piquet respectively.
Ayrton Senna's nephew Bruno Senna is also attempting to break into Formula One. Bruno has been testing for Honda following his second place finish in the 2008 GP2 Championship.

Its sensationalist to say "Toro Rosso fastest of everyone"
and the journalists who write these kinds of story need to point that out.
I don't think any kind of deal can be made of any times
and the teams committing themselves to F1 by their actions,
While its good to see all the testing that’s going on,
Your surname might get you into F1 but it won't be an easy ride. Rosberg, son of the daredevil Keke, has had his career stalled at Williams. Nelson Piquet Jr, son of triple champion Piquet, really struggling to live up to his name. Don't know about Bruno Senna but the obvious comparison will be Ayrton and I don't think that will make him look too good. Now Nicolas Prost. He has started late but he may be talented. However to make himself look good in comparison to four-time champ father Alain he has to achieve a lot in a very short time
Just goes to show its who you know rather than talent? Prost Jnr, Senna Jnr, Hill Jnr... I'm sure there are far better young drivers out there if the FIA/F1 distrubuted there wealth down to the the real fans and amature drivers, putting there profits into youth schemes. Its about money and corpoate image! at the end of the day!
I seem to remember David coulthard overtaking Micheal schumacher's ferrari in brazil in 2001 if that counts, it was on the race track in the rain.
He used a back marker and put a move on schuy and he never seen it coming untill it was too late, so maybe schuy's not so great as he's made out be?
Red Bull/Torro Rosso - Honda - and even Force India are available seats. I am sure if anyone can bring money and interest it would be him, good or no good, who cares, money makes the wheels turn
He can't go out for a beer with Lewis. Lewis is on the pi55 in Finland with Kimi. ( see other article )
Those eagle eyed amongst you will note I said Spepney. I of course meant Stepney. Apologies to Speven Spepney, the well known Ferrari virtual mechanic and a personal friend of touronroute.
Chris T. Wasn't Spepney a (f)lying Mechanic.
Nobody has ever overtaken a Ferrari in the history of the world. When you have seen another car get in front of a Ferrari, it's because you were not looking closely. The Ferrari UNDERTOOK the car behind. It was all part of the Ferrari game plan. Massa didn't overtake Kimi,Kimi undertook Massa.Hope this demonstrates to you that Ferrari are as daft as their fans.
I Agree with RAV 4 . If you overtake a Ferrari give it a wide berth in case bits of the car, or the re-fueling rig fall off.
Nobody is allowed to overtake a Ferrari and that's the decision of the red car, not the FIA's, because evryone knows that Ferrari 4-wheels are the masters in this world.
is history repeating itself? Will we see a remake of the 60's, 70's, and so on with the Juniors?
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A MAN AND A BOY
IS THE SIZE OF HIS TOY
So Glock isn't very young and he started driving. If he wants a permenent seat he can go to Torro Rosso. They have Ferrari engines and if Alain really does have good connections with Ferrari than his son could land a seat it TR for sure. If not he can still be a test driver
Rosberg, Piquet, Senna, Prost, new aerodynamic rules harking back to the 1980s, slick tyres - F1 is inventing time travel!
Bill Mac,
Well said. Isn't it just ironic, the FIA, keep changing the rules, to encourage overtaking, but as soon as a driver does that (Hamilton) he is penalised. Sorry I forgot, if the car is red that's fine, any of the car, there is rules?
