Wed 02 Jan, 02:15 PM

Charlton have recalled Kelly Youga from his loan spell at Scunthorpe to ease the defensive crisis at The Valley. The 22-year-old, who can play anywhere along the back four, was on a six-month loan deal at Scunthorpe but has been drafted back to south London by Alan Pardew and goes straight into the squad which hosts West Brom in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Pardew was unhappy with his side's defending in the New Year's Day defeat by Colchester and is without Danny Mills - whose loan spell is over - Sam Sodje through suspension and injury-hit Ben Thatcher, Cory Gibbs and Grant Basey.

If Youga does play a part against West Brom, it would be his debut for the Addicks.

Pardew has also handed 17-year-old winger Scott Wagstaff a professional contract.
