Chesterfield boss Lee Richardson has saluted his side's recent winning run and challenged them to extend it at Grimsby this weekend. The 2-1 New Year's Day victory at home to struggling Wrexham was the Spireites' fourth successive win since a disappointing defeat at Accrington in mid-December.
"Obviously we want to keep the winning run going," said Richardson. "We are delighted with the response we have had from the players since the Accrington game.
"Against Wrexham we won a game that a few weeks ago we would have only drawn or even lost, so there are signs of improvement.
"Our away results have been tremendous this season and hopefully that will continue at the weekend."
