Scott impresses again for Bees

Wed 02 Jan, 04:30 PM

Brentford caretaker boss Andy Scott furthered his claims for the permanent job after beating Dagenham 2-1 and would be "proud" to take the job.A double from midfielder Glenn Poole ensured Brentford took the points at Victoria Road - Ben Strevens replying for the hosts - and Scott was particularly impressed with the way his players battled for the victory.

"They're good players but now they know they can mix it, work hard and graft for each other and that's an important milestone for us," he said.

"We've had a really tough spell, but I've got nothing but praise for the players and they've given everything for me.

"League Two is all about getting results. You might not play well every week, but you must win games at places like Dagenham and that is what we have done.

"It's a fantastic club to be at, I'm proud to be here and would be even prouder to be given the job."
