Paul Connor's first-half strike gave Cheltenham a 1-0 win in their relegation battle with Port Vale.
But the Robins were indebted to goalkeeper Shane Higgs as he continually thwarted the visitors.
The goal came after 22 minutes when some neat work down the right flank resulted in Steven Gillespie picking out his strike partner and Connor calmly slotted home.
Higgs later did well to keep out a long-range Justin Miller strike and, on the stroke of half-time, he produced another good stop from a Marc Richards header.
Richards was carried off midway through the second period with a leg injury forcing the visitors into a re-shuffle.
But the closest they came to grabbing a point was deep in injury time when Danny Glover's close-range effort was kept out by another outstanding reflex save from the Cheltenham stopper
