Laurent Robert has confirmed he wants to return to English football to get his career back on track.
The flamboyant winger is currently on the lookout for a new club after his deal with Liga outfit Levante was cancelled back in November.
Robert had wanted to return to French football after leaving Paris Saint Germain in 2001, however, Ligue 1 bosses are fearful of taking on the 32-year-old.
Ipswich have invited the former Newcastle and Portsmouth the chance to come to Championship outfit, although he has not confirmed or ruled out the possibility of linking up with the East Anglian club.
"In France it's been difficult," he told the Daily Mirror.
"I've been in France for three weeks and it has chilled me to hear quite a lot of managers saying they are scared of my character.
"I think the best thing now for me is to go back to England and shine there."
