Nick Fenton's 61st-minute strike extended Grimsby's unbeaten run to nine games as they earned a 1-1 with Notts County at Meadow Lane.The goal cancelled out Richard Butcher's 10th goal of the season for the Magpies two minutes earlier, and the midfielder fired in after a defensive ricochet.

Grimsby could have wrapped up the points in the opening 10 minutes but missed three great chances to score.

Striker Peter Till's marauding run past three men finished with a low cross to Danny North, who saw his shot beat Kevin Pilkington only to be cleared off the line by Lee Canoville.

Till's follow-up was saved by the recovering Pilkington, who was soon forced into action again to deny North in a one-on-one after Till's clever pass.

County striker Ryan Jarvis missed a golden opportunity shortly before the opening goal, and a draw was a fair result in an entertaining game.
