Sat 02 Feb, 01:45 PM

Charlton boss Alan Pardew believes new loan signing Lee Cook can resurrect his career at The Valley. The Addicks boss succeeded in a last-minute deal to secure Cook on loan from Fulham for the rest of the season, and the winger goes straight into the Charlton squad in action at Scunthorpe on Saturday.

The 25-year-old is a like-for-like replacement for Andy Reid, who departed for Sunderland for £4million hours before Cook arrived.

"I've previously watched him at QPR, and I feel he is a terrific player," Pardew told the club's official website.

"He got a big move to Fulham but unfortunately picked up an injury that has held him back there, so it was a fantastic opportunity for us to bring him in."

Cook's Premier League career was expected to take off after a £2.5million move from QPR, but he is yet to make a start for Fulham following a succession of injuries.
