Yeovil's woes continued as Huddersfield claimed a 2-0 win courtesy of a Luke Beckett penalty and Michael Collins' close-range effort. The Glovers forced the early chances but the Huddersfield defence, with recent acquisition Robert Page outstanding, kept them at bay although they were lucky after seven minutes when Yeovil's deadline-day signing, Lee Peltier from Liverpool, had an effort scrambled off the line.
Home skipper Terry Skiverton conceded a penalty after 22 minutes for a handling offence and Beckett made no mistake from the spot.
He turned provider after 51 minutes for the second, threading a pass through to Collins who exploited a gaping hole in the defence to score from close range.
Ex-Huddersfield star Marcus Stewart, left on the bench because of injury, came on for the final 35 minutes and was Yeovil's principal offensive threat in the closing stages.
