Dundee striker Colin McMenamin is intent on returning to the SPL after his late winner put a huge dent in St Johnstone's promotion hopes.McMenamin netted his second goal in the 90th minute to earn Dundee a 3-2 win at Dens Park on Saturday and cut the gap on Irn-Bru Scottish First Division leaders Hamilton to two points.
Saints are a further nine points behind now despite twice equalising through debutant Jody Morris and Andy Jackson.
McMenamin, who joined Dundee from Gretna, said: "The main reason I came to Dundee is because I believe they are an SPL outfit.
"I liked the ambition of everyone at the club and we can go on to win the title."
Hamilton needed a 90th-minute equaliser from James McCarthy to salvage a 2-2 draw at in-form Queen of the South.
Stephen Dobbie's double had turned round the game at Palmerston following James Grady's opener - and Queens felt Steve Tosh was fouled in the build-up to McCarthy's strike.
Tosh received a second yellow card for his protests and manager Gordon Chisholm shared his anger.
"It was a stonewall foul - everyone in the ground could see that," he said.
However, Accies boss Billy Reid felt his side were worthy of a point.
He said: "We deserved something from the game and if my players give me everything, we won't be far away at the end of the season."
Damon Gray netted a double as Partick Thistle swept aside Clyde 4-1 at Broadwood and the on-loan Hibernian striker hinted he could stay at Firhill.
"I'm here until March 22 but if there isn't first-team football available to me at Hibs then I'd be happy to stay," the 19-year-old said.
Another loan player, St Mirren's Alex Burke, netted for Dunfermline before Livingston striker Graham Dorrans rescued a 1-1 draw.
And Pars boss Jim McIntyre revealed Burke was set to sign a pre-contract deal to stay in Fife.
At the bottom, eighth-placed Morton earned their first league win at Cappielow since October with a 2-1 home win over Stirling.
