Hamburg remain firmly in contention for a Champions League spot after a convincing 4-1 Bundesliga victory against Eintracht Frankfurt.Jose Guerrero opened the scoring before Nigel de Jong doubled the advantage in the second half.
Frankfurt pulled a goal back through Sotirios Kyrgiakos but Guerrero got his second with Mohamed Zidan rounded off the scoring.
As a result, Huub Stevens' team jump to third place with 41 points, six points adrift of leaders Bayern Munich but three points clear of fourth-placed Bayer Leverkusen, who lost 2-0 at VfL Bochum.
Leverkusen's recent good run of form came crashing to a halt in the second half of today's contest.
Thomas Zdebel opened the scoring in the 66th minute and Christoph Dabrowski secured the victory two minutes from time.
Bochum's third victory from their last six games propels them into 13th place and gives them a comfortable 12-point cushion over the relegation zone.
