Jackett rues 'big disappointment'

Sun 02 Mar, 07:00 PM

Kenny Jackett was frustrated after a late goal cost Millwall a crucial point in their fight for survival as they lost 1-0 to Bristol Rovers.Disley's injury-time winner for the FA Cup quarter-finalists came against the run of play after the home side had dominated the latter stages without creating too many clear-cut openings.

The defeat leaves Millwall just one point clear of the drop zone, and Jackett admitted the manner of the loss had left a bitter taste in his mouth.

"It's a big disappointment - I'm sick as a dog," he said. "We had the lion's share of possession and I felt the game was there for us but we didn't convert the pressure into enough chances.

"It was an opportunity to get a vital win that we've passed up. We didn't have enough cutting edge and we were caught with a sucker punch in injury time.

"This game was winnable so it's a big frustration. Turning possession into goals is the key and it wasn't there for us. I didn't think we gambled and we didn't let ourselves get pulled out of shape but perhaps we shouldn't have let the cross come in."
