Scott: Nowhere near good enough

Sun 02 Mar, 06:15 PM

Brentford manager Andy Scott believes his side's second half perfomance was "nowhere near good enough" as they slumped to defeat at Darlington.Scott said: "I was delighted with the first-half performance. I thought we handled Darlington very well.

"But the second half was nowhere near good enough for this football club and it won't be accepted. If the players want to be at this club next season they must play a lot better than that in the last 12 games.

"The first goal was very costly and came from (Glenn) Poole not closing down the cross. And after that we lost our shape and didn't do the basics very well at all.

"Ill discipline cost us the game and I won't let it happen again. We need grafters and workers and we didn't have them in the second half."
