A hat-trick from Wendell gave Bordeaux a 3-0 win over Paris St Germain on Sunday to keep alive their hopes of winning Ligue 1.The Brazilian opened the scoring in the 33rd minute and completed his hat-trick with two goals in as many minutes at the start of the second half.
The result keeps Les Girondins - managed by former Manchester United defender Laurent Blanc - within three points of leaders Lyon.
At the other end of the table, PSG are without a win in five games, and the team managed by former Rangers boss Paul Le Guen are only two points clear of the drop zone.
In Sunday's other game, the heroics of Nice goalkeeper Hugo Lloris prevented St Etienne winning their third match in a row at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard - the game finished goalless.
