Manager Dave Penney piled praise on his defenders after Darlington claimed a point at Barnet that moved them back into the promotion places.Penney's men had slipped out of the top three and below Hereford after shipping nine goals in their previous three matches, but got back-to-basics at Underhill to deny the Bees a fourth successive home win in a goalless draw.
"It was really important that we got a clean sheet here after our recent results," said Penney. "We had conceded too many goals in our last four games and Barnet is a very difficult place to come to so the draw is a good result.
"We played reasonably well, kept good possession but only created half chances. We're back up to third place, albeit on goal difference and it's still all to play for, but Hereford have games in hand and I expect them to pick up points.
"We've got two huge games coming up against Stockport and Hereford and we've got to get some wins."
