Southend winger Damian Scannell has been dealt a blow after learning he is set for a month on the sidelines after sustaining a groin injury. The 22-year-old picked up the injury as he made a late substitute's appearance in Saturday's 1-0 win over Walsall and he is now likely to miss the majority of the remainder of the season.
Striker Richie Foran, meanwhile, is poised to undergo knee surgery on Friday.
Foran - who has scored four goals this term - has been out on loan at League Two side Darlington, but his season has now been curtailed due to the injury.
