Barnsley winger Rohan Ricketts is on the verge of a move to America after going on trial with Major League Soccer outfit Toronto FC.The former Arsenal trainee was recently given permission by Tykes manager Simon Davey to go for a four-week trial with Toronto FC, where Derby winger Laurent Robert is also on trial.
"He hasn't featured for us, so there was no point in standing in his way," Davey told the Sheffield Star.
Ricketts, 25, has made just five starts for Barnsley since a successful trial last summer.
His short career has seen him move to Tottenham and Wolves, with loan spells at Coventry and QPR, before arriving at Oakwell.
Ricketts last played in the 1-0 FA Cup fourth round win over Southend, but will play no part in this weekend's semi-final with Cardiff at Wembley.
