Warnock sure of Speroni stay

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock is sure Julian Speroni will sign a new deal at Selhurst Park - and he does not mind waiting until the summer.Speroni has been an ever-present in the Championship this season after finally establishing himself as the club's first choice.

His current deal expires at the end of the season and lengthy talks have been held regarding an extension at Selhurst Park.

Warnock feels the Argentinian wants to sign a new deal, but the Palace boss is keen to focus on the club's push for a play-off spot.

"We have had extended talks with him, but there's only five games to go and, although I would like him to sign by the end of the season, it's more important that we get on with these games now," Warnock told the Croydon Guardian.

"We have spoken to him and I think he was quite happy with everything."

Speroni's expected decision to stay at Selhurst Park is a contrast to team-mate Mark Hudson, who looks increasingly likely to leave after rejecting the club's latest offer.
