Ipswich defender Richard Naylor should be back for pre-season training after his latest neck operation was a success.

Naylor has missed the majority of the season with a slipped disc and it is hoped that this latest step will solve the problem.

Physio Matt Byard told the club's official website: "Richard has had the operation in a London hospital and the surgeon says everything has gone according to plan.

"He is staying in hospital for a day or so and then will begin his rehabilitation.

"We have been told by the specialist that he is likely to have a three-month recovery period so we are hopeful that he will be back in pre-season training in July."
